RAS90
Automatic train protection system RAS90 is an INDUSI PZB90 based ATP system.
It is designed in order to increase the safety of railway traffic. RAS90 system consists of central device RAS90, locomotive balise, track balises and signalling and operating elements located in the locomotive cabin.
- Track and locomotive balises encased in robust (fire, water, vibration resistant) casings
- Equipment compatible with other INDUSI track balise producers
- Decentralized architecture
- Minimum cable infrastructure – CAN BUS connectivity
- Configurable parametring of peripheral units
- Low life cycle costs
- Low initial investment
- High level of customization possibilities
- Project management (turn key solution)
Functionality
The main function of the system is to initiate automatic braking if the driver doesn’t comply with safety regulations. RAS90 is continuously monitoring the speed of the train and does not allow overspeeding at any point during the run. RAS90 can be additionally upgraded with various other functions like dead man’s system, train driver registration, event recording, speed monitoring, wheel lubrication and similar. The system also features self‑maintenance capabilities and supports communication and integration with multiple on-board systems, including ETCS, TCMS, and JRU, ensuring enhanced interoperability and system reliability.
Safety
Track and locomotive balises are certified by independent assessors in accordance with EN standards 50121-3, 50121-4, and 50125-3. RAS90 is developed and certified in compliance with EN 50155, EN 50121-3, EN45545, and EN 61373, and has been certified up to SIL 2.
Maintenance
Although RAS90 is a microprocessor‑based high‑tech system, its maintenance procedures are designed to be as user‑friendly as possible. Fault diagnosis and system checks are performed via a dedicated diagnostic application, enabling efficient troubleshooting and system monitoring. The system also supports self‑maintenance functions, enhancing reliability and reducing downtime. Additionally, peripheral units are supported by dedicated test devices – the speed sensor is tested using the SSTD testing unit, while the locomotive balise is tested using LMI18 and IDTD RC devices.
Connectivity
Connection to other onboard systems is achieved via an isolated CAN bus. Connection to the central diagnostic system (CENDIS) is realised through an xG router or WiFi. Additionally, the system supports Ethernet-to-CAN message translation, enabling communication via both Ethernet and CAN bus and ensuring flexible integration with a wide range of onboard systems.
Analytics
REC90 is a module developed specifically for event recording and it can be used with PC application RAS90LiveViewer and RAS90Evaluator. All diagnostic data can be archived in ALTPRO central diagnostic system CENDIS.
