27. April 2018.

ODRA 2, ALTPRO’s new innovation and development center, has been opened officially on the 27th of April in Zagreb.

Vice president of the Croatian government and the minister of economy, entrepreneurship and crafts Mrs. Martina Dalić has also been present during the ceremony.

ALTPRO is an example of a producer who is creating added value using modern technologies and export possibilities. This is the right way for the Croatian industry to grow. ALTPRO also sets the benchmark for using EU funds to support this kind of production activities“, emphasized minister Dalić, announcing legislative measures to be taken to support companies similar to ALTPRO. „By changing the legislative, the government will enable R&D oriented companies like ALTPRO to use tax benefits and other kinds of financial support. This change will not prevent entrepreneurs from using other benefits provided by the country through EU funds“ continued minister Dalić.

ALTPRO now operates on 3 locations; ODRA 1, ODRA 2 and mechatronics factory in Vrbovec. The total premises of the company exceed 4700 square meters. By opening the new facility, ALTPRO’s innovation, production and development capacities will significantly increase in both production lines – signalling and safety systems for railway vehicles.

ALTPRO investment will open 75 new  working places in all sectors of the company. Director of ALTPRO, Mr. Zvonimir Viduka, said that innovation for export and investment in employee development are the fundamentals of ALTPRO’s success:“ We do not worry for the frequency of orders because now we are able to take on much bigger projects and carry them out successfully. We are already working on other innovative products according to the demand of the world market. Our export is continually growing and the new capacity brought us new potential customers.“ Mr. Viduka also emphasized that this is the second investment of this kind in the last 6 years for ALTPRO which makes the company the largest producer of safety and signalling equipment in this part of Europe.
