Session of the Croatian Academy of Engineering at ALTPRO
21. March 2025.
The 10th session of the Economic Council of the Croatian Academy of Engineering was held at the ALTPRO premises in the new production facility in Velika Gorica on March 20. The main topic of the session was the application of hydrogen technology in rail vehicles, with an emphasis on its role in the decarbonization of the transport and industrial sectors.
Hydrogen, as the energy source of the future, offers numerous advantages, but its implementation requires detailed planning. Participants discussed all key aspects – from the production of hydrogen as a raw material to the practical implementation of the transition, which must be gradual and tailored to the specificities of different sectors.
One of the key parts of the session was a presentation by ALTPRO’s CEO, Zvonimir Viduka, on the plan for the development and application of hydrogen technology in ALTPRO’s railway program. After the presentation, participants toured ALTPRO’s new production facility in Velika Gorica, where they learned firsthand about the innovations and technological solutions the company is developing.
The session concluded by emphasizing the need for a systematic and strategic approach to the implementation of hydrogen technologies in order to achieve maximum efficiency in the transition to sustainable energy sources.
